Orlan faithfully waited for his bride at the windows of the hospital for a whole week
In December 2015, employees of the Kobekvidsky Wildlife Rehabilitation Center (Canada) discovered a female bald eagle on their territory. She was lying on the ground, and she didn't have the strength to open her wings or even lift her head.
The eagle was named Birdzilla (from the English bird — bird), as she was the largest bald eagle in the history of this rehabilitation center.
Veterinarians found out that the bird was poisoned with lead, probably eating animals that were contaminated with fragments of ammunition at the landfill. As soon as the diagnosis was made, doctors immediately began treatment.
Day by day the bird was getting better. It was clear from her aggressive behavior. "Anger is a good sign. This means that she wants to live, this is the natural behavior of such birds," the doctors commented.
And every day she wanted to break free more and more, despite the fact that she did not recover completely. Something irresistibly pulled her there.
When Birdzilla fully recovered her strength, the veterinarians released her into the wild. She flew out and started circling over a tree near the rehabilitation center.
And then he appeared.
A male bald eagle who has been faithfully waiting for his companion all this time at a tree near the hospital.
They sat down on one branch and began to shout loudly, as if talking about something.
And then they flew over the horizon together.
