In Konstantin Vikhrov's photographs, the night suburbs of Moscow look so surreal that they resemble vivid scenes from the neo-noir thriller Blade Runner. It is in this picture by Ridley Scott, as well as in the works of Wes Anderson, that Konstantin draws inspiration and even created his own public "Running on f ** * yum".
Vikhrov started photographing in 2011 and unsuccessfully tried to enter the VGIK as a photographer, however, despite the failure, he did not give up his hobby: he photographed everything in a row.The photographer created his Vkontakte group "Running on ******" in 2016, having stumbled upon communities like "romance of urban suburbs".
Initially, the public was called "I take a picture for a shawarma".Over time, a reference to the movie "Blade Runner" appeared in the title.
Ridley Scott's film became part of the inspiration for Vikhrov: a lot of steam, neon lights and tones recognizable from the 1982 painting. Vikhrov shoots mainly in Moscow and the Moscow region. Because of this, some social media users asked if the capital of Russia could be considered "*******" [ the outskirts]. The photographer believes that it is quite possible.
