Most underwear manufacturers are trying to attract young and slender models for their advertising campaigns. The emphasis on brands for the young, who only occasionally enter the niche of clothing for the overweight, means that the models look no older than 27 years. But not in the case of Lonely Lingerie. This New Zealand brand has published a new advertising campaign, where the main character is a 57-year-old beautiful woman. It seems the world has fallen in love.

This is Mercy Brewer, she is 57 years old. She has been in the modeling business since the 1980s. Of course, now she is already a real professional, but this does not negate the fact that Lonely Lingerie is not the first time she has turned to models less represented in popular media. They have an advertising campaign where the most ordinary women are dressed in underwear of their production, and photos are taken at their home.
"I believe that we have lived to the moment when the beauty of mature women turned out to be a stunning discovery. If we don't admit it, we, each of us, will deny ourselves in the hope of the future," says Mercy Brewer about the advertising campaign.
The founder of the brand, Helen Morris, noted that they wanted to challenge what they see in the media and advertising with a more truthful reflection of beauty and expand the palette of visual images for the public.
Fortunately, now every woman has more and more chances to look like Brewer at the age of 57, but we must admit: there is some relief that gray hair and a little wrinkles are no longer presented as something nightmarish.
