Miraculously survived: an 18-year-old American woman who got lost in the woods was found alive 9 days later
Rescuers were already ready to recognize the young American woman as dead, but miraculously found her alive 9 days after she disappeared in impenetrable forests. 18-year-old Giovanna Fuda survived by eating wild berries and water from a stream. The parents are happy that their daughter was found safe and sound, but the circumstances of her disappearance remain unclear.Giovanna disappeared after visiting a coffee shop on July 24 in Index, Washington. The next day, her car was found on the highway that rises into the Cascade Mountains. The parents were afraid that the worst had happened, after rescue teams were unable to locate the girl for a week.
But fortunately, on the ninth day of the search, rescuers found a young American woman near a ravine in the thickest woods outside of Seattle. She survived by eating wild berries and water from a stream. The girl left home in Maple Valley without telling her parents where she was going. Her father and mother sounded the alarm when she didn't return. The next day near the highway between Skykomish and Stevens Pass found her car. The police couldn't track Giovanna's phone because it was either turned off or didn't pick up a signal in that area.A similar miracle rescue occurred in California. Two little sisters were found alive in the forest 44 hours after their disappearance.
