A drug lord from Brazil went to jail, but he wasn't going to sit there for a long time. 42-year-old Clauvino da Silva (Clauvino da Silva) tried to escape by changing into his daughter's clothes, wearing a wig and glasses to become like her. But this idea was not crowned with success: the guards detained the loser fugitive. Although several female visitors tried to help the dodgy mafia, it did not help him.

How the guards managed to expose the cunning drug lord and prevent him from escaping to freedom — learn from our material.

An elaborate escape plan by a Brazilian drug lord who disguised himself in women's clothing and hid his face under a silicone mask has failed. The security officer noticed something was wrong and stopped the fugitive halfway to the exit.

42-year-old Clauvino da Silva tried to escape from the Gabriel Ferreira Castilho penal colony in the west of Rio de Janeiro on Saturday afternoon. He dressed like his 14-year-old daughter, but the excitement and clumsiness of his gait betrayed him.

The video of the exposure shows how the officers remove the wig from the fugitive and he freezes, with his hands behind his back. He tries to defend himself and mumbles that he should not undress, but the guards insist on it. Then tattoos are visible on the hands of the criminal, the muscles and skin on them are much darker than his face. In the end, the mask is torn off and the face of one of the most dangerous drug mafia leaders in the largest criminal group in Rio de Janeiro, the "Red Team", appears under it.

Da Silva chose to escape during visits and exchanged clothes with his daughter Ana Gabriel, who hid inside the prison after that. Seven other visitors, one of whom turned out to be pregnant, are also suspected of complicity. They were sent to the police station for questioning, along with da Silva's daughter. Jailers suspect that it was a pregnant woman who carried a disguise into the colony, because she was not searched at the entrance, according to the rules.

Unfortunately, this story has a tragic ending: Clauvino da Silva, nicknamed "Shorty", was found dead in solitary confinement. He committed suicide three days after an unsuccessful attempt to escape, for which he should have been given more time. Brazilian prison systems are now experiencing a serious crisis, the country's prisons are overcrowded.

Da Silva is not the only prisoner who had to endure bitter disappointment after the collapse of hopes to get to freedom. The American, who also escaped from prison through incredible efforts, fell into the hands of the right guards just a few hours after the escape. And the blame for everything turned out to be ordinary tea.
