Landscapes from a height - abstract art

Categories: Aerophoto | Nature |

Sometimes from a height our earth looks like an abstract painting filled with light, shadows and geometric shapes. Artist Luke Basquin created a series of black-and-white photographs from a bird's-eye view called "In the Air", in which photographs of mountains and valleys in North America turned into textural patterns of lines, snow-covered fields and rivers meandering like spills of white paint.

Luke Basquin is a professional pilot, he has the ability to look down on the world. And with the help of photographs, he gives us the opportunity to see this beauty here on earth. "I've always loved the sky. On the ground or in the sky, my photos reflect the relationship between the world that is above us and the one that is below us." Basquin's photographs create a new universe in which everything seems completely different, and all the details can be viewed from different angles.
