A University of Kentucky support group has found itself at the center of a dirty scandal. The other day, the university administration dismissed all the coaches of the team on charges of humiliation, drinking alcohol and public exposure. After three months of investigation, a number of official violations were revealed, especially during field events. Nevertheless, some members of the team took to social networks in support of the cheerleading program, demanding a transparent and fair trial.
As a result of a university investigation, it was discovered that the cheerleaders performed a flip jump - a trick during which a girl is thrown into the air, topless or without underwear. This happened, in particular, at field training on Lake Cumberland. At the same time, the coaches watched what was happening. In addition, the mentors did not forbid drinking alcohol on trips, as a result, several cheerleaders got so drunk that they needed medical help. On the lake, graduates rented boats and drank alcoholic beverages half-naked in front of their mentors.
During the team 's departure to Tennessee coaches forced some of the participants to shout rude slogans and go without underwear. However, no evidence of sexual abuse or harassment was found during the investigation.
The University of Kentucky has created a leading national student cheerleading program. The scandal has significantly damaged the reputation of both the team and the entire educational institution. The university administration does everything possible to protect the psychological and physical health of its students.
