"Japanese in glaze": an unusual batch of cars was unloaded in the port of Vladivostok
Vladivostok is the eastern sea gate of Russia, through which "not broken, not painted" and mostly "right-hand drive" Japanese cars enter the country. From there, they spread all over the country, for the joy or for the misfortune of domestic motorists. Do you know how Japanese cars get to Vladivostok? Don't tell me, you can't know that. Now we will tell only one case from the life of the Far Eastern port.
On the morning of December 27, the Sun Rio cargo ship arrived at the port of Vladivostok with another batch of cars. The ship's entry into the port is an ordinary event for the residents of Vladik, but this time the ship attracted their attention. The fact is that the deck of the cargo ship and all the cars placed on it were covered with a thick crust of ice and snow.
The icing was so severe that it was impossible to recognize the brands of cars. All the cars from the deck looked like huge desserts, which the pastry chef generously poured icing sugar. Despite this, the cargo was promptly and without incident unloaded ashore.
The event attracted the attention of the press and bloggers. The journalists decided to sort out the situation with icy cars and turned to experts for clarification.
The sailors said that nothing extraordinary had happened. Such cases happen all the time because of strong excitement and negative temperatures. Sea water gets on the deck and the cargo placed on it and immediately freezes.
Cars covered with a crust from a few centimeters to half a meter are partially cleaned of ice before unloading. To do this, use hot water, chemical reagents and just crowbars. All this does not benefit the cars and greatly reduces the service life of the body.
Sometimes a car owner cannot understand why his car, brought from Japan, starts to rot so quickly. Most often, this is attributed to the effect of substances that are sprinkled on roads in winter. But now we know one of the factors that definitely does not benefit the metal.
