Is there chocolate in white chocolate
There are many types of chocolate in the world. In addition to black, milk and white, they produce products with different additives: with fruits, nuts, marshmallows and even with salt and red pepper. Everyone can choose a treat to their taste, but no one guarantees that the chocolate will be made of real chocolate.
White chocolate is a specific sweetness. Many people do not like it because of its cloying and lack of light bitterness, which is inherent in black and milk chocolate. This is explained simply — it has very little in common with other types of cocoa products, one can say one name. The composition of white chocolate is completely different and the technology of its production is special.
The main component — cocoa beans - gives brown color to ordinary chocolate. They are sorted, fried, peeled and then crushed into powder kernels. This raw material is divided into two parts. One of them is sent under the press, where cocoa butter is extracted from it. The other serves as the basis for the preparation of chocolate mass.
There is no solid component of cocoa beans in white chocolate. It is made from cocoa butter, which can be up to 20 percent in the final product. This substance has neither an odor nor an obvious taste. Many different components are added to white chocolate. These are sweeteners, thickeners, flavors, serums and spices.
Therefore, when a manufacturer writes "chocolate" on a white tile, he, to put it mildly, exaggerates. As you have already understood, you should not expect anything good for the body from this product. Everything in it is either useless or capable of harm. So if you have a choice, buy black or milk chocolate, made according to all the canons of confectionery.
White chocolate has another secret and also unpleasant. It appeared thanks to the Swiss concern Nestle in the 1930s. It was called Milkybar white chocolate and its advertising was everywhere.
But they did not develop a new sweetness in order to please consumers. White chocolate helped the company get rid of cheap and unclaimed cocoa butter. The cunning Swiss started selling Milkybar, instead of disposing of the oil as before.
