"Instagram saved my life": anorexic woman wanted to live thanks to photos of girls who defeated the disease
When Emelle Lewis from Huddersfield was 15 years old, she considered herself "fat and ugly" and could not find a boyfriend. Then she began to harass herself with diets, workouts and eventually became anorexic.
The girl refused to be treated and in fits of paranoia convinced herself that everyone was trying to ruin her life. Emel claims that, despite her small weight, she did not feel weak, but she was constantly cold.
At the peak of her illness, Emel weighed 32 kilograms and ate rice bread, wheat flakes and salad.
Everything changed when Emel signed up on Instagram for girls who had overcome anorexia. She realized that she didn't want to die. And although Emel was terrified of the upcoming treatment, she firmly decided that she wanted to start exercising in order to gain weight.
