Incredibly beautiful motorcycle: replica of the German Killinger und Freund in Art Deco style

Bobby Haas created the coolest motorcycle museum "Haas Moto Museum" in Dallas to showcase a collection of more than 130 motorcycles and custom. Experienced craftsman Craig Rodsmith has restored a front-wheel drive motorcycle that has just completed the collection. It all started when Bobby Haas, suffering from insomnia, visited the exhibition "Handbuilt 2018" in Austin.

It was a unique motorcycle Killinger und Freund, released in the 1930s in Munich.

Bobby immediately remembered Craig Rodsmith and texted him. They met in the lobby of Bobby's hotel, but Haas failed to convince the master…

Craig wasn't sure of his abilities, but Bobby insisted — the project started. The main condition: everything had to be made of polished aluminum. In addition, front-wheel drive with a star-shaped motor in the front wheel became a big problem. Craig initially thought to buy a new motor and put it on, but everything turned out to be a little more complicated, since it's not easy to find a similar copy. Eventually, I had to make my own motor.

Craig got three identical 60 cc two-stroke engines, after which he turned to Matt Carroll and ordered a pair of 19-inch wheels with small hubs from him in order to have as much space for the engine as possible. The front wheel turned out to be unique. On one side there are spokes, and on the other — all the elements of the motor, hoses and cables.

The second problem was starting the engine. Craig decided to put an electric starter that simultaneously starts all three engines. It seems nothing complicated, but in fact a cool job has been done. Especially interesting is the drive, the design of which is understood only by Craig himself.

The motorcycle chassis is completely homemade. The result was a cool and modern replica of Killinger und Freund, nicknamed "Killer".
