In the USA, a ghost town is for sale for only 350 thousand dollars
If you like small towns, then you have a chance to become the owner of one of them. Cabin Creek, a ghost town in Adams County, Colorado, is officially up for sale. "So many people came to see us, it's wonderful," says James Johnson, who now owns this small settlement along Highway 36. He recently submitted an ad for sale to the popular Craigslist classifieds site in the United States. For just 350 thousand dollars, you can buy an old car service, a cafe, an abandoned motel, two houses and something else.

But in the best years it was quite an attractive place. "The couple who owned the town and ran the cafe served the best fried chicken steak in the whole state," says Joan Lippett, who lives in the town of Byers and used to often go to Cabin Creek.
But in the 1970s, misfortune befell Cabin Creek. "There was a murder. There were some people whom the couple sheltered, pitied or something like that, and they found out that the couple had money," says Lippett. It was then that Cabin Creek became a ghost town.
"Then there was literally no one there, and all these buildings were empty. Nothing happened there for several years," Johnson says. Once he had big plans for this place. He wanted to turn it into a tourist attraction in the style of Route 66. But now his wife has more serious plans — to retire. "We're looking at Idaho or Montana, I think. We are ready to leave the city even further," explains the owner of Cabin Creek.
The town for sale is located on about 20 thousand square meters. The motel has eight rooms, there is an eight-bed parking lot for trailers. From Cabin Creek, you can drive to Denver in just 45 minutes and to Byers in 10 minutes.
The structure and communications, of course, need repair, but in general there is already a place to live and, if desired, you can earn good money due to the fact that the town is right on the highway, the author of the ad notes.
