In Egypt, build high-speed flyover of 50 cm from the houses
If you are concerned about the noise of cars outside the window, you will be in solidarity with the residents of a street in the Egyptian Cairo. Local social media actively discussed the construction of flyovers Ter-al-Samara (Teraet Al-Zomor) which at one site is literally a few inches from the Windows of houses.
The appearance of the overpass for the residents of the housing estate is not just polluted air from the exhausts immediately outside the window. The lower floors of houses were under the overpass, hidden from sunlight and normal view.
The bridge is located in the Giza governorate, is across the street Nasr El-DIN in Cairo. The bridge length 12 km, width of 65.5 meters. The project is estimated at 5 billion Egyptian pounds — about 317 million dollars.
How the Egyptian authorities explain such decision of construction?
The Ministry of housing of Egypt explained that four buildings that are close to the bridge, were built illegally. Have even taken the decision on their demolition, which should be done just in time for the completion of the construction.
Residents plan to compensate for the moving, setting aside 250 million Egyptian pounds, but still it is expected that this process will be delayed and may suspend the start of the highway.
However, the residents claim that their homes were built in 2008 and still nobody talked about their illegality.
