How Olivia Klopchin lives — a girl with a monster hand
American Olivia Klopchin (Olivia Klopchin) at birth was the most ordinary child. Neither the doctors nor her parents knew that there was a congenital pathology in her body. Soon the disease made itself felt and Olivia's appearance changed. While medicine cannot help the girl and she has no choice but to accept herself as she is.
At the age of 2 months, a small bruise appeared on Olivia's right arm. It grew until it covered the entire limb. The girl's hand has greatly increased in size and has become lumpy, like a branch of an old tree. This disease is called vascular malformation and is manifested by the intertwining of vessels into a tangle. Because of this, the affected part of the body changes, becomes large and ugly.
As a child, Olivia had a hard time. Peers teased her with the Hulk, and ill-mannered adults unceremoniously stared at the unusual girl. But the real torment began by the end of school, when Klopchin realized that the peculiarity prevents her from living. The girl had to wear voluminous cardigans in any weather so that her problem would not be so noticeable. In the photos, Olivia almost always stands with her left side to the lens, and her right hand is hidden.
But after a while, the girl got tired of hiding the flaw. She decided that such an attitude to her peculiarity poisons her life, and looks stupid. Klopchin began to appear in public, not hiding her monster hand, and began posting photos on social networks where the hand is visible. Many American friends welcomed her decision and were glad that Olivia was no longer complacent. But the girl also has a lot of haters.
Sometimes Olivia writes that it is better to get rid of her right hand by amputating it. Such "well-wishers" insist that the prosthesis will look more aesthetically pleasing than a disfigured limb. Moreover, a modern artificial arm will function better than a real, massive and clumsy one.
But Olivia certainly isn't considering amputation. She answers the haters that she is used to living with such a hand, but does not react at all to particularly aggressive attacks. In social networks, Klopchin writes that she accepted herself and lives in harmony with her body.
The right hand of the German Matthias Schlitte is also very different from the left in size. But the guy used this flaw in sports and became a champion.
