HIV-infected gay man became the face of Cosmopolitan magazine
The British magazine Cosmopolitan continues to break stereotypes in the fashion world. After the publication invited plus-size model Tess Holliday to star for the cover, it chose a man as its new main character. For the cover of the January issue of the magazine, the star of the queer show "Straight through the eyes of a gay man" Jonathan Van Ness was photographed.
In the picture, 32-year-old Van Ness poses in a lush peach dress by Christian Siriano and Nike sneakers.
It is worth noting that the last time a man appeared on the cover of Cosmopolitan 35 years ago — then the famous musician Boy George starred for the publication.
Jonathan Van Ness is a well—known American hairdresser, TV presenter and podcast creator. The show "Straight through the eyes of a gay man", of which he is one of the participants, was awarded an Emmy Award in 2018. This year, Jonathan admitted that he has known for seven years that he is HIV-positive.
