Heart attack, stroke and other problems that threaten if you do not go to the dentist
If you avoid dentists, do not go to preventive examinations, and appear at the reception when the toothache is absolutely unbearable, then we have bad news for you – you are the enemy not only to your teeth, but also to your entire body. Neglected dental problems threaten not only your mental balance and wallet, but also many internal organs and systems that are difficult to logically connect with the oral cavity.
Taiwanese and Swedish scientists have proven the dependence of many vascular and heart diseases on bad teeth. It turns out that tartar, formed as a result of not too diligent brushing of teeth, can cause a heart attack and stroke. Deposits not only look unpleasant, but also disrupt the microflora of the oral cavity, cause the appearance of caries and periodontitis, bleeding gums and bad breath.
The bacteria that cause the inflammatory process of the gums significantly increase the likelihood of pathologies of the cardiovascular system. This is not a hypothesis, but the real result of many years of observations by independent groups of scientists from Sweden and Taiwan. If tartar is present on 20 teeth, then the probability of a myocardial infarction in this person increases by 53%!
We have already said that poor dental care leads to an imbalance in the microflora of the oral cavity. Most often, because of this, there are fewer beneficial bacteria, and the number of harmful ones is growing uncontrollably. The result may well be chronic sore throats, tonsillitis, otitis media and sinusitis.
From the gums and teeth, pathogenic microbes enter the nasopharynx, where they cause inflammatory processes. Therefore, if you suddenly become prone to prolonged runny noses, ear pain and sore throats, you should pay attention to the condition of your teeth and gums, among other things.
If there are no teeth, then it becomes impossible to chew food efficiently. A decrease in the quality of chewing food quickly affects the state of the gastrointestinal tract. This applies not only to those who have one or two teeth left in their mouth, but also to those who have these one or two teeth missing. The dangerous load on the stomach is proportional to the number of lost teeth.
Nature conceived human jaws as a perfect complex for preparing food for entering the stomach and the body immediately notices when something goes wrong. Therefore, doctors strongly recommend installing implants in the place of the removed teeth as soon as possible. Well, it is best not to bring your teeth to the removal at all.
An incorrect, or medically non-physiological, bite can cause a person to involuntarily close their teeth more tightly in order to chew food better. Changing the position of the jaws affects the position of the head relative to the body, although we do not notice it. As a result, the load on the neck muscles increases, the spine bends and even the gait changes.
A violation of posture and an uncharacteristic load on the neck muscles cause headaches, as well as many other problems, small but unpleasant. These include changing the shape of the face, of course, not for the better. This usually manifests itself as an asymmetry that progresses over time.
Some women find that it becomes difficult for them to walk in heels, because for some reason there is a serious load on the spine – this is also a long-term consequence of an indifferent attitude to the health of the oral cavity.
