He and she are actually the same person.
Lonely Time is a photography project by Canadian photographer J.J. Levine. He creates a picture in which he combines the same model, but in different images - male and female. The photographer invites the viewer to look at two genders of the same person in one photo. “By duplicating one body in one frame, I pay tribute to the human ability to change gender and raise the question of the authenticity of our genders.”

1. The photo project is politically motivated, its goal is to convince the viewer that gender is a changeable thing. “Although this photo project is digitally edited, it is important to understand that I do not change the external data of the model in the pictures. To become a man or a woman, the model uses cosmetics, costumes and gestures - and nothing more.
2. For this photo, the model herself wanted to portray a pregnant woman and future father.
3. This is also a very personal project. “I am a transvestite, so I think about this topic all the time. I express myself through photographs; this trick is just one way I can express my ideas about myself and the world around me, and sometimes about the interaction of both.
4. “Most of the time, photo scripts come to me, or I use clichés that I think would be interesting to the general public. In terms of emotion and subject matter, this work educates the viewer about relationship dynamics and explores the emotional connection of each person and their different versions of themselves."
5. Levine only photographs people close to him. “It creates a comfortable atmosphere in photo shoots and a stronger bond between the photographer and the subject, which I believe translates into a stronger bond with the viewer.”
