Have fun, working class: how ordinary Americans relax

Every year thousands of people come to the "Redneck Yacht Club" in Southwest Florida to spend a few days in tents with picnics, drinking and riding ATVs, pickups or trucks in the mud.

Brooklyn photographer Wesley Mann captured this annual event taking place on an area of 3.5 square kilometers in the place of Punta Gorda, which is also known as the Redneck Mud Park. Everyone who wants to spend time there must make an advance payment.

In addition, there are almost no other rules on the territory. According to the photographer, striptease poles, chain saws, firearms and illegal drugs are prohibited there.

Mann describes the environment as intimidating at times, but says he often pulled himself together so as not to be prejudiced against visitors to the mud park. The park is full of people during the summer patriotic holidays, for example, on the Day of Commemoration of those Killed in Wars (May 30) or on Independence Day, when visitors of all ages come.

Mud tracks on the territory of the "Redneck Yacht Club" are also very popular: visitors drive along them on their ATVs, pickups, jeeps and trucks.
