Greek cuisine is the internationally recognized queen of the Balkan Peninsula. It is based on olive oil, vegetables, fish, meat (mainly lamb), seafood and fruits. All Greek dishes look bright; they are flavorful and balanced. The Greeks use a variety of herbs in large quantities: oregano, dill, onion, etc. The main "highlight" of the local gastronomy can be called feta cheese. It is added to salads, pies.
