Fantastic worlds on dry maple leaves
Graphic designer Valeria Prieto from Iowa loved nature from childhood and collected dried flowers and leaves between the pages of books. This fall, she was walking around the neighborhood and found so many large leaves that she took them home, and then suddenly decided to use them as canvases. She likes the idea that nature should be preserved and given a chance for a second life. Prieto's drawings are made in acrylic and ink.
One of Valeria's favorite characters is the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
Frida and her husband, artist and politician Diego Rivera.
And here Valeria painted a picture of Van Gogh's "Starry Night".
Kristi Botkovell (Nancy Woland) and Beka Zaridze are two self-taught artists who organized the project "24 Fallen Leaves".
The number 24 has a special meaning for the pair: this is the date of their first meeting. When asked what gave them the idea to draw on the leaves, they say that it was love.
The lovers walked together in the autumn park, Nancy picked up an autumn leaf, she and Beka looked at each other and knew exactly what they were going to do with it — create.
This pair of artists has another favorite image — the Little Prince from the fairy tale Exupery and his planet.
In this drawing, you can also see other characters of the fairy tale: the Fox and the Rose.
