Sometimes fate presents unexpected gifts that you don't expect at all. A few weeks ago, Diana Bishop from Canada was dying of cancer, and now she has not only become a millionaire, but has also gone on the mend.

More recently, Diana Bishop from the Canadian town of St. Johns was practically saying goodbye to life: due to an aggressive form of stage 4 cancer, she could barely walk normally, and chemotherapy did not help much. However, everything has changed dramatically thanks to the purchase of a lottery ticket. Fate gave a cancer-stricken woman not just 1.5 million Canadian dollars (almost 70 million rubles), but faith in life and hopes for the future.

For a single mother with two adult sons, one of whom lives with her, the disease has become an incredibly difficult ordeal. First, the woman was diagnosed with breast cancer. She started a course of treatment, but the chances were low: the disease progressed to stage 4, when metastases begin to generate tumors in organs distant from the original focus.

The cancer has spread to the pelvic bone and lungs. Diana could hardly walk, but continued to work as a store manager. Having quit her job, she could not repay the mortgage debt, because social payments amount to only 1,100 Canadian dollars.

The last hope was treatment in Toronto. In October, Diana spoke about her difficult situation to CBC, and everything began to change before our eyes. Strangers came to her store and offered help, the woman began to prepare for a trip to experimental procedures in Toronto, and one day intuition prompted her to buy a lottery ticket. So a $20 piece of paper changed the lives of Diana and her sons.

Diana Bishop was beaming as she held up a giant mock-up of the receipt at Atlantic Lottery's office in St. John's. Her life has turned upside down, and she is incredibly glad that she can leave her sons, Jordan and Shane, in prosperity.

But that wasn't all the good news. A couple of weeks after winning, Diana found out that her body began to respond to chemotherapy — she entered the stage of remission.

After learning about her lottery win, the woman first bought a therapeutic adjustable mattress to ease the pain. The second purchase was a comfortable chair to watch TV while resting from chemotherapy. Now Diana has finally left her job at the store, will continue her treatment and will be able to pay the bank at the same time.

It's good that such miracles happen.
