Don't hang up your trunk! In a Thai park, a disabled elephant is being taught to walk again
Last fall, a five-month-old baby elephant fell into a trap set by residents of a Thai village. The baby had to amputate part of the front paw. Employees of the private tropical park "Nong Nooch" in Pattaya took him into care and prescribed a course of hydrotherapy so that the animal could walk again.

The elephant was given the name Fa Jam, which means "clear sky". God grant, it will bring her good luck. In the first months of life, this cub was catastrophically unlucky. Her parents died, and when she was left alone, she immediately ran into a trap.
The amputation operation was successful, months of rehabilitation are ahead.
In Fa Jam Park, they are groomed and cherished, in Thailand, elephants are generally treated with respect. And the inhabitants of that ill-fated village should not be blamed: the giants got into the habit of raiding crops.
A wooden prosthesis was fitted to the injured elephant's leg, secured with leather straps.
Now she is already slowly walking around her own enclosure, next to adult relatives.
But before Fa Jam could step on all four paws, she spent many hours in the pool.
The procedures do not stop even now, when the pain has receded. Hydrotherapy develops the paw, and in the future, according to experts, Fa Jam will be able to walk without a prosthesis.
The elephant is taken to the treatment in a truck.
Park staff say that the baby is still afraid of the aquatic environment, although elephants actually like to splash in the water.
The baby elephant has not yet learned to swim, and cables hold it on the surface.
And at the same time you can wash yourself.
Clear Sky has a bright future ahead.
