Clouds in Kamchatka that look like a UFO
These unusual formations in the sky look like alien ships. In fact, this is nothing more than a rare natural phenomenon, which is scientifically called lenticular (lenticular) clouds. Clouds form on the crests of air waves or between two layers of air. A characteristic feature of these clouds is that they do not move, no matter how strong the wind is.
The photos were taken by 33-year-old Russian photographer Denis Budkov on the Kamchatka Peninsula. “These clouds are amazing in that they are motionless, only their shape changes,” said Denis Budkov. Two factors are needed for the formation of such clouds - a strong wind and a high object, over which a continuous process of water vapor condensation occurs in wave flows when the dew point height is reached.
“Klyuchevskaya Sopka is an ideal place to observe lenticular clouds,” said Denis Budkov, referring to the highest peak of the Kamchatka Peninsula, where the photographs were taken.
