Brazilian model takes a dip in the water with sharks to protect marine predators
33-year-old Brazilian model, TV presenter and animal activist Karina Oliani starred in an underwater photo shoot. Think, you say, put on a pair of beautiful designer dresses and swim a little. However, this underwater photography is different from simple glamorous photo shoots. Karina not only descended to a considerable depth, but also did it without any special equipment and posed surrounded by a couple of dangerous marine predators - sharks. The animal lover went to such feats in order to draw public attention to the plight of sharks.
The photo session itself took place in the Bahamas, and the beautiful Brazilian, who, by the way, has been a professional diver for 20 years, was helped to pose without any breathing equipment by world-famous divers Stuart Cove and Liz Parkinson.
No cage protected the model from sharks, and Karina hopes that this fact will help people learn more about sharks. “They are not killers at all,” says the Brazilian. Every hour people kill 11,000 sharks. But these animals are very important for the ecosystem. Sharks have been living on our planet for over 400 million years.”

In 2014, there were only 72 cases of unprovoked shark attacks on humans around the world.
Karina Oliani is determined to preserve the harmony of marine life and shed light on the existence of cruel practices such as shark finning.
