Bastille Day at the Eiffel Tower
Bastille Day is a national holiday traditionally celebrated in France on July 14th. Since 1880, this day has been considered a symbol of liberation from despotism and the overthrow of the French monarchy. During its celebration, various festive events are held, such as minutes of remembrance, parades and fireworks. This year, the grandiose fireworks were released for the first time from the Eiffel Tower and lasted a full 35 minutes. The pyrotechnic show, which began at 11 p.m. Paris time, was dedicated to the centenary of the First World War.
