American creates ingenious figurines from peanuts

Categories: Positive |

Ohio-based artist Steve Casino transforms peanuts into amazing caricatures of celebrities, animals and objects. Steve sometimes spends up to 20 hours a day carving 4-inch figures out of nuts.

He paints figurines with acrylic paint, and uses bamboo sticks to sculpt arms and legs. Steve started painting peanuts three years ago to entertain his friends and then realized there was a niche in the market!

“Since then, I have created 223 works, from stars to animals and inanimate objects like spray cans. This year, MTV asked me to design Game of Thrones characters to promote the new season,” says Steve.
