America: Niagara Falls - a miracle of nature
In the American program, this time our visit is north of Washington - on the US-Canada border. The 650-kilometer road from the capital to Niagara Falls is a holiday in itself.
The sound of Niagara Falls, one of the busiest waterfalls in the world, can be heard from a distance of 25 kilometers. Located on the Niagara River, which separates the United States and Canada, this waterfall combines three waterfalls. The American and Bridal Fatas Falls are located in the US state of New York, and the larger Nal Falls are located in the Canadian province of Ontario.
2 million 554 thousand liters of water per second flows from the 57-meter-high Nal waterfall. This 762-meter-long waterfall is located on the left bank of Goat Island, which divides the Niagara River and creates waterfalls.
On the right bank of Goat Island are the American and Fata waterfalls. Because Fata Falls is so small, both waterfalls are sometimes called American Falls. In the middle of these two waterfalls is the small island of Luna.
Together, the two waterfalls are 335 meters long and 54 meters high. According to geological data, Niagara Falls was formed at the same time as the famous Great Lakes of America, about 10,000 years ago. The existing hydroelectric power plant under the waterfall produces 4.4 gigawatts of electricity.
Niagara Falls is one of the most popular tourist attractions in America and the world. Wei Yu, originally from China, currently lives in Michigan, USA. He came to Niagara for only a day: "My friend came to visit us from China. This time we came to show him here. This is my third visit to Niagara. It's great. I especially love to ride here."
Speaking of ships, I got on a boat and saw the waterfall from below. The scene and the feeling I felt there are indescribable, it's just… advice!
