A fight to the death: the female giraffe is trying to save her baby from a lioness
An Amateur photographer managed to capture the hunt of a lioness the newborn baby giraffe in Kenya National Park Masai Mara. Mother-a mother giraffe fought back desperately, but she didn't have a chance against predator, which also had to feed their children.
29-year-old software engineer and Amateur photographer the He Sanintan (Srikanth Santhinathan) of India during a photo Safari to Kenya National reserve Maasai Mara witnessed the hunting lioness in born a day earlier, giratina. No matter how out of the giraffes, it failed to drive away the predator.
Giraffes are good runners, but born before the baby female giraffe could not escape the predator.
The mother giraffe tried to kick the lioness powerful legs, but she was much quicker, and unhappy herbivores was nothing I could do.
Giraffe calves are born large: their birth weight is about 70 pounds. But clumsy giratina had no chance to escape from the nimble 200-pound lioness.
Alas, such scenes are typical of African savannas. About half of young giraffes in the savanna dies before the age of years.
Adult giraffes live, of course, is easier: only the strongest and most experienced lions dare to attack them, and then flock. That is why the lion was chosen as the extraction of a defenseless baby.
