A drunk couple from the UK sneaked into a water park at night and broke their legs there
Who among us did not want to be locked up at night in a toy store or a slot machine hall as a child? They say, be afraid of your desires and this is not a joke. For example, 44-year-old Barry Douglas and 46-year-old Claire Vickers were at the water park at night and decided to enjoy the rides. The first launch of the romantics from the water slide ended badly — they broke their legs and almost died.
It is unknown what prompted the mother of five children Claire and her boyfriend Barry to go looking for adventures after the party. However, the couple found them after breaking the fence of the Lido Aldershot Water Park in Hampshire. The lovers, who had drunk a lot, were undoubtedly going to splash in the pools and go down the slides to exhaustion. Alas, it all ended very quickly.
During the descent from the big water slide, Claire and Barry crashed into the fence. The fact is that at night at the end of each pipe put special dampers. As a result, both amusement lovers hit the structure with such force that they broke their shins and crushed their feet. But this was only the beginning of their suffering.
Unfortunately, no one heard the screams of the martyrs imprisoned in a plastic pipe at night. As a result, Claire and Barry had to spend two not the best hours of their lives inside the slide. They desperately called for help, from time to time losing consciousness from the pain. They were rescued by a policeman who happened to be passing by. The rescue service immediately arrived at the scene. The victims were not easily removed from the pipe and taken to the hospital.
A month has passed, but two extreme athletes will not soon be able to move without wheelchairs and crutches. Barry Douglas refused to talk to reporters about his injury. But Claire Vickers willingly shared her memories of that terrible night. Finally she said:
Summing up, the doctors of the hospital where Claire and Barry ended up believe that they were very lucky. If they were going down the pipe headfirst, there would be no one to save. Injuries to fans of water slides, although serious, but leave hope for a full recovery. Although cranks can repeat the descent even now — a water park for people with disabilities has opened in the USA.
