A cozy nuclear bunker capable of withstanding an explosion of 20 kilotons
Now, when North Korea has rejected all US proposals for nuclear disarmament, let's just take a look at a stunning bunker in which you can hide from radioactive fallout, wars and terrorists.
The huge two-level shelter, built at a depth of 13 meters underground, is capable of withstanding a nuclear explosion of 20 kilotons, and among other amenities it has a decontaminating shower.
Source: MirrorAfter Donald Trump's victory in the US elections, precautions related to possible emergency events became not a fad for self-respecting rich people, but a household necessity. Many American entrepreneurs have begun to prepare for emergencies: to buy weapons and ammunition, stock up on food and gold, get a second citizenship, perform vision correction operations and look after bunkers. This is especially true now, when tensions between the United States and North Korea are growing.
The perfect hideout for a paranoid millionaire is located on a former military base in Savannah, Georgia. Its exact location is not disclosed for security reasons.
According to the description of the bunker, it can survive all kinds of potential threats, including natural disasters, riots and terrorist attacks. The house with meter-thick walls has an air intake system, a room for a nurse, a room for weapons, a video surveillance system for 100 thousand dollars (about 6.8 million rubles) and even a decontaminating shower to protect against radiation.
There are more familiar household amenities in the bunker: hot water, solar panels and the ability to control humidity.
"We live in a world that is becoming more dangerous. This house will provide unconditional security to any family, business or administrative institution that needs maximum security and comfort. After the reconstruction, facilities worthy of any five-star hotel have appeared here, only they are located at a depth of 13 meters underground, where outsiders will not be able to detect them and where it is impossible to penetrate."
Chris Salamon, co-owner of the security company Bastion Holdings
The bunker was built in 1969, during the Cold War. It was designed by military engineers, and built by employees of army corps. In 2012, the facility was completely renovated and brought up to state standards. Before the sale in 2015, the shelter was used as a training center for military personnel. It was also proposed to use the room as a repository of gold or other valuables or as an educational complex.
Now, according to the Mirror, it is the only private underground bunker in the USA. The object is located on the territory of 130 thousand square meters of land, and it occupies 1300 square meters. The building has two levels: on the second floor there are four apartments with an area of approximately 55 square meters, each with a kitchen, dining room, two bedrooms, living room and bathroom.
On the first level there are common areas, like in a hotel, including a home cinema, a games room, a kitchen, a classroom and a workshop. The owner of the bunker can also accommodate the maintenance staff here.
"This facility is impenetrable, it meets the highest standards of quality, convenience and safety. It's better if you have it and don't need it than if you don't have it when you need it."
