A 29-second battle: eight fractures and a skull like a hundred-year-old mummy
Mixed martial arts fighter Sage Northcutt recently fought at a tournament with 37-year-old kickboxer from Brazil Cosmo Alexander (Cosmo Alexandre). At the 29th second of the fight, the guy was severely injured, as a result of which he was immediately hospitalized.
At the hospital, doctors X-rayed Northcutt's head, and it turned out that the skull of the 23-year-old American is more like the skull of a century-old mummy. With photos, as well as detailed information about the current state of the fighter, you can find in our material.
Sage Northcutt started practicing martial arts when he was just four years old. Since then, the boy has been improving his skills and by the age of 20 was able to make his debut in the prestigious UFC league. By the way, he became one of the youngest athletes in the history of its existence.
The guy was called a future star, because for 12 fights in mixed martial arts and 15 in kickboxing, he lost only twice.
But during the last tournament MMA in Singapore, luck obviously turned against Northcutt. Already on the 29th second of the fight with Cosmo Alexander, he was seriously injured and could not continue.
The guy was taken to the hospital, where he underwent a 9-hour operation. In total, Northcutt had 8 fractures.
This is how the skull of the fighter looked on the X-ray. Many netizens noticed that he — with all the cracks and humps — looks more like the skull of a hundred-year-old mummy, not a 23-year-old guy.
The young man himself does not despair and says that he will soon return to the ring again. As soon as the doctors let him.
Sage is currently undergoing postoperative recovery, but he is very optimistic.
