1. Z Nation (TV series)
Our top zombie movies are opened by a series from the Asylum film company, which, although famous for producing low-quality films known popularly as "thrash", this time created a completely watchable creation that deserves to take a place among the best zombie series, and in particular to open our list of the best movies and series about the living dead. The series is about a group of people who are trying to get a person immune to a zombie virus somewhere where they can be used to create a vaccine that turns people into walking creatures. Military biologist Sarah tries to help the people of her hometown find a safe place, but there are very few places left in the city, so they go to a military base located very close, hoping to find salvation there.
3. The warmth of our bodies
This movie can't really be called a horror movie. It's more of a zombie melodrama. A rather unusual story in which the narrative is partly from the perspective of zombies. The world is plagued and on the verge of extinction. Hordes of the living dead walk the earth, trying to eat the surviving people, who are already few in number, but who continue to fight for the survival of their species. Change begins when one zombie saves a girl instead of eating her. The friendship that has begun between representatives of the two sides threatens both with the most unpleasant consequences. But they, without suspecting it, hold in their hands the simple and only key to saving the perishing world. What happens next, you have not seen in any other film about the walking dead.
4. In the Flesh (TV series)
This English series can be called more drama than horror. It shows the lives and experiences of zombies who, four years after the start of the epidemic, fall under the government's zombie rehabilitation program, which facilitates their return to society, most of them are not very happy about this and treat the whole idea with suspicion. Teenager Kieren Walker, who returns home to a small town in Lancashire to face the hostility of people who once knew him and his own demons, has fallen under this program, which will not be easy for him to fight.

It only takes one bite or scratch to turn a man into a mad eater of living flesh. The military sends a special forces group to the complex, teeming not only with zombies but also with other monsters, joined by the charming Alice and the brave policeman Matt, who will become the main characters of the film.
6. 28 days later
In ninth place on the list of the best films about the living dead is a film that has at least some explanation of where it came from and what the zombie virus is. A group of "green" extremists invades a primate research center and releases a monkey infected with a dangerous rabies virus from a scientific laboratory. The deadly virus, transmitted through the blood in a matter of seconds, leads to a rapid infection and, getting into the blood of the victim, turns it into a bloodthirsty monster. Being completely isolated from the outside world and having no way to independently contact anyone outside the studio, they are waiting for the inevitable approaching zombie apocalypse, which has already swallowed everything around for many kilometers. Now they are the only ones left alive and are forced to seek salvation from the advancing zombies.
9. Train to Busan
Sixth place in our ranking of the best zombie movies is taken by a surprisingly high-quality and interesting film from South Korea. There is nothing fundamentally new in the film, but the quality of the special effects, the script, and, in principle, the implementation of the idea allow it to take a fairly high place on our list. The story begins with a man preparing to take his daughter on her birthday to another city with her mother. When boarding a train, a person infected with an unknown virus gets on it. By the time the passengers realize what has happened, the only place they can find shelter in the city of Busan, where they go. 10. The Walking Dead (TV series)
If this were a list of the best zombie series, then this series would take first place, as it is the most popular, famous, expensive, and high-quality series about the living dead. This series, based on comics, is full of dramatic twists and dashing plots, and the acting and characters sometimes make you follow the events on the screen with bated breath. The series shows a typical zombie apocalypse, but in addition to surviving under the onslaught of the walking dead, the heroes of the series meet dangerous and unpredictable people all the way, sometimes it is much more difficult to protect themselves from them than from the dead. However, the heroes continue their journey in search of a safe place to live, fighting all the hardships that come their way.
11. Welcome to Zombieland
Another horror movie with elements of comedy takes fourth place in our top zombie movies. It's pretty rare to see a walking dead movie starring famous Hollywood actors. This film is just one of them. Dashing action, excellent special effects, and makeup, plus Bill, his mother, Murray. What more do you need for a good movie? Oh yes, zombies. Well, there are plenty of them here. During the zombie apocalypse, a group of four people quite by chance gather, who, somehow getting along with each other, jointly set off on the road in search of a safe place, simultaneously shredding the walking undead in sometimes unimaginable ways right and left.
12. Reportage
The top three most terrible zombie films are opened by an Italian horror film, the events of which unfold by and large in one house, but everything is filmed in the best traditions of the genre. By the way, some of the scariest horror films were filmed in Italy. Specifically, this story begins with the fact that a reporter from a local TV channel, filming a story about a fire station, goes along with firefighters on a call. Arriving at the place, they discover that some of the residents of the house are behaving very strangely and aggressively. Then they realize that a terrible zombie virus is operating in the house, but it may already be too late for them because the house is now under quarantine and it will not be easy to get out of it.
13. Dawn of the Dead
Second place goes to the remake of the 1978 movie, which was made in 2004. This movie starts exactly the way a good zombie movie should start. Everything is quiet and calm, and then bang, and now herds of zombies are already running around the uncomprehending people, trying to feast on a human being. After a sharp change, in reality, the main characters find each other, quickly get to know each other, and then barricade themselves in a large supermarket, where several dramatic and terrible scenes unfold, after which everyone together begins to look for ways to escape to find a safer place than a store, against the walls of which hundreds are trampling living corpses. A solid horror movie takes a worthy second place in our list of the best zombie films.
14. World War Z
The first place goes to the most expensive, high-quality, and modern horror film on the theme of the zombie apocalypse, in which the main role is played by far from the last person in Hollywood. During the filming of this film, Brad Pitt, a part-time producer of the film, faced many problems, but, nevertheless, the film was completed, and the box office amounted to more than half a billion dollars. As it should be in films of this kind, everything starts quickly and unexpectedly for the main characters of the film - the family of the hero Pete. They ride quietly along the street, and then again, and the zombie apocalypse begins. People turn into zombies in just 10 seconds, and then they are already chasing you in order to bite and infect you with the same rubbish that another zombie infected them with. The main character has nothing to do but go in search of the original source of infection because he turns out to be a UN special envoy. So, word by word, our hero flies around half the world in search of an antidote, and his journey frightens and keeps the whole film in suspense.
