11 simple tips for those who want to live to 100 years
In our time, when not only cancer and diabetes, but also senile dementia are rapidly “younger”, the topic of active longevity is of interest to many. American doctor Tony Brier in his blog shared with the audience very simple rules that, in his opinion, will allow a person to maintain mobility and a clear mind up to a hundred years.

1. You need to drink green tea. Five cups a day is good protection against heart attack and stroke.
This recommendation is in good agreement with the opinion of most doctors and various tea experts - they also unanimously recommend drinking about one liter (that's just 5 tea cups) of good green tea.
2. Chat more with your friends.
The entire medical community also unanimously agrees with this recommendation. During many studies, data were obtained that married men are almost twice as likely to suffer from a stroke than single men; that sociable people are less susceptible to senile dementia.
3. Eat plenty of nuts.
Nuts have long been known for their beneficial effects on many systems of the human body, including the cardiovascular system. But this advice is only suitable for those who do not have any allergies to nuts, otherwise, instead of a healing effect, you can get a very unpleasant itchy rash, and if you're lucky, then anaphylactic shock.
4. Floss regularly.
Tony Brier believes that if you master this hygienic tool, you can extend your life by almost six years. Of course, healthy teeth are an indispensable part of overall health. Their state most directly affects the state of the whole organism. After all, good nutrition is possible only if all teeth are perfectly healthy.
5. Stop smoking immediately.
Very good advice. It is a pity that it is extremely difficult to follow him in our time. Indeed, in a society where there are so many smokers, the phrase "I don't smoke" does not make sense at all. One has only to smoke one, as all who are nearby become passive smokers and involuntarily receive their portion of the deadly poison, which is only slightly less than that which the active smoker himself loads into his lungs.
6. Master new technologies.
In other words, "live and learn". Of course, learning something new constantly keeps the brain in good shape, and also allows you to make new acquaintances and new friends. Many doctors take a much broader approach to the problem, recommending that they be interested in mastering not only the latest (and often expensive) technical innovations and "fancy" gadgets, but also look into good old books more often. For example, learning foreign languages or solving entertaining puzzles at any age is a great brain workout.
7. Have children later in life.
As proof of the validity of this recommendation, studies from the University of Utah are cited, which showed that people who have children after 40 live longer. Statistics are funny. Here it is a priori clear that those people who COULD give birth after 40 have increased vitality at the genetic level and, of course, will live much longer than the “average” person. Those who are unlucky enough to receive increased vitality from nature, having “seen out” until a critical age, will simply be left without children.
8. Go on vacation more often.
This advice is also much easier to give than to follow. Some people can't go on vacation because they're textbook workaholics, and the stress of being out of a job is worse than work stress for them. Others refuse to take a vacation simply because they cannot afford it for financial reasons. But studies show that reducing the time spent on vacation increases the risk of heart disease by 8 times.
9. Get good sleep.
For a good rest, you need to sleep 7-8 hours a day. When a person does not get enough sleep, his cells cannot function normally. There are a lot of different theories about how much sleep you need. Everyone has their own rules here. For example, Napoleon said that only idiots sleep more than 6 hours. He himself managed four hours. At the same time, his clarity of mind and efficiency were colossal, but Napoleon clearly does not fall into the category of centenarians.
10. A little wine will do you good.
Studies of data from more than a million people show that the death rate among those who drink a small glass of wine a day is 18% less than among those who do not drink at all. It is clear that here the whole "trick" is to limit yourself to just one glass and certainly good wine. Many people cannot do this, and the benefits of wine immediately turn into harms.
11. Try to laugh more often.
A study by the NewEnglandCentenatian found that people who laugh are more comfortable with stress and are more likely to celebrate their 100th birthday.
