You won't recognize this dog today! Thanks to love and care, she turned into a beauty

In April 2015, on the outskirts of Athens (Greece), a woman discovered a stray dog whose muzzle looked like a stone. She took a photo and posted it on Facebook in the hope that there would be people who could help.

5-year-old Petra (Greek for “stone”) apparently has never dealt with people before. It was almost impossible to approach her - she ran away. It was extremely difficult to save her, but people did not give up.

Finally, she was captured and sent to an orphanage in Oropos. There Valya Orfanidou met Petra and realized that she had to help her.

Petra was in extremely poor condition. She was diagnosed with scabies, skin infections and leishmaniasis. Even after the treatment began, Petra suffered - she did not trust anyone. She hid in her cage and snarled at the other residents of the orphanage.

However, every week Petra became more and more brave. She began to leave her cage and endure people who tried to communicate with her.

Orphanidou never gave up on Petra, and soon she was completely different.

Petra began to communicate with people.

Today it is difficult to recognize her. From skinny, covered with scabies from scabies and a frightened dog, she turned into a beauty.

Petra is still looking for her home and is ready to be part of a loving, caring family.
