What modern windows are capable of

By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/what-modern-windows-are-capable-of.htmlFor a very, very long time, windows in a person's home have been responsible for light and beauty. However, it is clear that with the development of technology, they are acquiring more and more new functions that bring to our homes - and therefore to our lives - also a variety of conveniences, protection and comfort. We decided to understand the capabilities of the most modern representatives of the window industry and are happy to share our findings with you.

1. Let's start with the obvious. It's no secret that modern windows help keep the heat in the house as much as possible. Today's double-glazed windows are absolutely hermetic and allow, under the same conditions, to increase the temperature in the room by 4-5 degrees.
2. Constant noise, which is almost impossible to avoid in big cities, can pretty much overshadow the joy of living in a modern apartment. However, even here double-glazed windows protect your comfort - the option consisting of two glasses can reduce the noise level by 6 times, and out of three - by 11! It also helps to fight noise and lack of gaps. True, here, in addition to the number of glasses, the quality of the profile is of great importance, which must be taken into account when choosing windows.
3. Modern plastic windows also solve such a problem as dust protection, which is especially relevant for allergy sufferers. This happens due to the same tightness, or rather, due to the presence of a seal in them, which prevents the penetration of dust.
4. Unfortunately, windows in the modern world are not only a source of sunlight and fresh air, but also a source of danger. Those who live on the lower floors know this firsthand. Therefore, window manufacturers are now paying special attention to their protection. In addition to such standard, but not very aesthetic options for solving the problem, such as grilles and roller shutters, today we also have solutions such as specialized anti-burglary fittings (the so-called trunnion) with several degrees of protection, as well as double-glazed windows reinforced or armored with a special shockproof film. To ensure maximum protection, experts advise using several methods at the same time.
5. In addition, modern windows are able to ventilate the room themselves and "breathe" with the help of climatic valves that provide the necessary air exchange and prevent fogging and freezing of windows from the inside and the appearance of stale air and mold in the room.
6. High technologies also did not bypass the window industry. So there were, for example, self-cleaning glasses. This system uses natural phenomena to clean glass: rain washes away dust without leaving streaks, and the sun decomposes organic dirt. Happy owners of such windows may not wash them all year round.
7. Another novelty - self-dimming glass - a development that makes blinds an obsolete element of the interior. Such windows are usually frosted and allow you to see only vague silhouettes. And when you press the switch, the windows become transparent. Such windows work on electricity, but they do not consume too much of it.
8. Relatively recently, such a device as an electromechanical pen appeared. It allows you to open and close the window sash with the touch of a button.
9. In addition to technical improvement, modern windows provide a huge scope for design and architectural delights. First, windows no longer have to be rectangular at all - they can be triangular, round, oval or arched. Therefore, the dreams of a hobbit house are now quite possible to translate into reality - it remains only to find a round door.
10. And finally, you can choose almost any color and texture for your windows. Such windows are called laminated and allow, for example, plastic to be disguised as wood, stone or leather.
