The structure was built in 1859. It was recently restored for $2 million, raised through private donations.
This historical architectural object often turns into a kind of yeti in the winter months, as the icy waters of Lake Michigan break against it.
Nowicki's videos and photos show terrifying-looking icicles, some of which have frozen at an angle due to strong winds. In this form, the lighthouse looks more like a fairy-tale castle made of ice, which glows from the inside in the dark.
