Italian tire giant Pirelli has released its famous calendar, for which major stars are invited to work from year to year. This time, the heroes of the calendar were Cher, Grimes, Iggy Pop, Jennifer Hudson, Rita Ora, Normani Kordei, Bohan Phoenix, Saweetie, St. Vincent and Kali Uchis. They found themselves in the lens of Bryan Adams, a photographer and musician
This year the main theme is music. The photo story was called "On the Road" because the musicians have to constantly move, tour, perform in different cities.
61-year-old Bryan Adams, legendary Canadian rocker, whose popularity peaked in the 80s and 90s. It turns out that Adams has been fond of artistic photography for many years for his soul, which is why he was attracted to the project by Italian tire manufacturers
According to Adams, the concept of the new edition is inspired by his life: for many years he combined a career as a musician with the work of a photographer, constantly being on the road. In the pictures for the Pirelli calendar, the Canadian tried to convey not only the drama and charm of the tour, but also the feelings of longing and loneliness associated with them.
It should be noted that in recent years, not models, but celebrities have appeared on the pages of the Pirelli calendar: young and not so young, with different skin types and who have achieved success in various fields of activity.
The calendar consists of 160 pages and contains more than 70 photo portraits in color and black and white versions.
Pirelli has been publishing branded calendars since 1964 — their canonical issues (until the beginning of the XXI century) were filled with photos of naked beauties in bright images. However, in the early noughties, the company moved away from this concept in favor of less erotic and more artistic works. Pirelli calendars come out in a limited edition of several thousand copies and have a high collector's value.
