The island for one house got into the Guinness Book

Who hasn't dreamed of settling on their own island? The American family Sizeland found their island in the archipelago of the St. Lawrence River, which flows near the border of Canada and the United States. Thanks to the inhabitants, one of the 1864 nameless pieces of land received the loud name "Island with enough space" (Just Room Enough Island). Since 1950, the family has enjoyed solitude. But recently, unwittingly, they have become very popular.

The island for one house got into the Guinness Book

A small island with an area of just over 300 m2 accommodates a cozy house, a large tree and a tiny barbecue area. The loneliness of the Sizelands is very relative. Despite the obvious lack of neighbors, fences and traffic, they became popular on Instagram. Curious tourists have published a photo of the smallest island in the social network. The pictures caused a lively discussion. Many users are interested in how life is on an island the size of a small house?

Sometimes the water level in the river becomes higher. The inhabitants of the house have to clean everything from the yard so that their belongings are not carried away by the water. On such days, the water completely covers the recreation area.

The Sizelands built a house for a secluded holiday. Unfortunately, they did not take into account the routes of tourist cruises, because of which they became famous on Instagram. The owners do not support the discussion. Recently, they were included in the Guinness Book.

Previously, the smallest inhabited island was a piece of land Bishop Rock, which is located in the English archipelago of Scilly. It was the island of the lonely lighthouse. In 1982, the lighthouse was fully automated and the island became uninhabited. The publishers had to look for another owner of the prestigious title. It turned out that this is Just Room Enough Island, which is 15 meters away from the nearest land. For the Sizelands, the search for privacy ended in popularity.
