The problem of waste disposal is increasingly facing modern man. Consumer society dictates the rules, filling up the planet with all sorts of packaging and obsolete products and household waste. The average modern man produces from 1 to 1.5 kilograms of waste per day.

American photographer Greg Segal (Gregg Segal) invited several families from California to go on an unusual experiment. He asked them not to throw out the trash for a week. As a result, a clear demonstration of the crisis of ecology in a shocking cycle of works "7 days garbage" (7 Days of Garbage).

We have all heard about the problem of waste, but few ever stop to consider exactly how much trash people produce each day, week, month. American Greg Segal decided to raise this important subject and did a photo shoot with people of different social strata, which he captured with the debris they have accumulated over 7 days.

The author of the project suggested that all participants not to throw garbage during the week, and then come to him with the contents of their garbage can. Lay all waste on the grass, the sand or the water surface, the photographer demonstrated how much waste accumulates in humans over a very short period of time.

"I decided to photograph people in a natural backdrop to showcase the whole unpleasant contrast and to emphasize the dangers of environmental waste. It is important for me to show how much unnecessary garbage it produces each one of us," said the photographer.

Many of the project participants became uncomfortable when they realized how much waste remains after them for only one week. This was the main task of the author, who wanted thanks to these shocking photos people think about what they have in the trash, where does it go and what can be done to improve the situation.
