By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/published-images-flooded-japanese-equipment-during-the-second-world-war.htmlJapanese military airplanes, trains, tanks, ships and other equipment are now covered with corals and lie at the bottom of the Pacific ocean. A series of unique images made by American diver brandi Mueller. She coped with this task during the week, plunging to five times a day. All of this equipment, ammunition, utensils, food, and the airfield was on the strategic Japanese base on the Micronesian Islands of Chuuk.
During world war II in the lagoon of Chuuka were ships of the 4th Imperial fleet and the command of the 6th submarine fleet. Almost all of this was sunk in result of military operation of the USA "Helston" 17 Feb 1944. Including this operation allowed the allies to gain superiority over the enemy in the Pacific. Subsequently, the control Coucom moved to the United States army.
