In Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula there is a hidden underwater river called Angelita ("Little angel"). It can be reached, only when diving.
How is that possible? This unique phenomenon formed as a result of the destruction of the ancient cave. The stratum of rock had collapsed and opened up access ground fresh water. In fresh water goes a little salty, and at the depth of 30 meters there is a chemical reaction with release of hydrogen sulfide. It looks like a cloud or fog that creeps along the bottom.
Divers can swim right through the cloud, which is wonderfully reminiscent of the river. Even more similarities to add trees and fallen leaves.
If you look from the surface, then nothing will be seen — only water column. But it is necessary to descend to a depth of 18-20 meters, and it's like you enter another world.
Photographer Anatoly Belowin made a number of exciting images that convey the mystical atmosphere of this place.
