Mysterious Ermsy: the artist, in love with cartoons

About the British Illustrator Ermsy know very little. He lives in Paris, is relatively young, began his career with graffiti, and that's all. More famous of his work that evoke surprise, laughter or anger, but leave no one indifferent. The publication of The Hundreds managed to take a short interview with the flamboyant artist and learn a bit about the origins of his talent.
In Europe Ermsy know quite a long time, but the artist believes that the origins of success you need to start with 2015. It was then that he noticed the experts and the critics and then he took part in major joint projects. The fact is that four years ago the wizard was known as a major figure in the graffiti scene, but under the pseudonym of ErmOne.

Doing graffiti since the mid 90s, Ermsy has developed his own unique style, which is characterized by the techniques of comics and a large number of characters. That forced him to quit favorite wall art and even change the name, the artist does not tell anyone.
But the journalists of the Hundreds found out that Ermsy was born in a small village in the North of England, among unspoiled nature and rugged, but hard-working people. Entertainment he had a little, so the TV took a serious place in the life of the master.
Since it was the mid-80s, the most popular cartoons were "Ghost Hunters", M. A. S. K and other products of the Studio Filmation. Later, in the early ' 90s, there was a cult for a generation of those years "Beavis and Butthead" and "Ren and Stimpy".
Fascination with cartoons coincided with the first attempts to realize itself in the creative plan. In 6 years Ermsy participated in school drawing contest and won one of the prizes. However, it was not a funny character, and the pattern of the Church, recalls with a laugh, Illustrator.
As a teenager she developed an interest in drawings on the walls that would not leave Ermsy so far. The artist believes that the secret of his success in graffiti is simple — focus on the characters. Now Ermsy pays more attention to images than graffiti, but don't mind and "old rock", mood. Most loved characters from the British Illustrator — Garfield, Bart and the Pink Panther. He believes that these three characters — a brilliant example of design of the turn of XX and XXI century. Since their images are a little faded, then Ermsy trying to get people to look at them with new eyes. In addition, the artist makes his characters 'grown-up', creating with them an absurd scenes +18.
