It became the largest running event in Russia — this time athletes from 70 countries competed at distances of 42 and 10 km. In 2013, 5 thousand people registered for the race, and in 2016 the number of participants increased to 28 thousand.
The runners were watched by 100 judges, 130 doctors and the sharp-sighted Maria Plotnikova, who collected in her report the brightest moments of the sporting event and the most memorable characters.

The route passed along the embankments of the Moskva River, across the Crimean Bridge, along the Garden and Boulevard Ring, then along Tverskaya and Theater Passage, then the athletes ran under the walls of the Kremlin.
In addition to the start, the most photogenic point was the section of the distance near Moscow City. It's only 7 km from the start, and the athletes were cheerful.
From the Bagrationovsky Bridge there was a gorgeous view of the fleeing.
If we talk about the characters, the real star was Godzilla, more precisely, hiding under an 8-kilogram suit Vsevolod Bolshakov. In this form, he ran all 42 km, although he did not expect at all that he would be able to finish.
Not only Godzilla distinguished himself at the distance. Increasingly, it turns out that a marathon is not only a way to test your own strength, but also a chance to walk at speed in a terribly fashionable outfit.
On the other hand, the lack of creative equipment is not a reason to deny yourself the pleasure of sports.
The wind blew quite strongly in the open spaces, but in general, the participants were incredibly lucky — the weather for the marathon turned out to be gorgeous.

Every athlete who has run a marathon at least once admits that a good support group is just as important as preparing for the race.
The real thrill comes after the finish line — you are lying without strength and legs, staring at the clear sky, and you realize what a handsome man you are.
An essential marathon attribute is tons of bananas. This fruit is a source of carbohydrates and potassium, which helps prevent muscle cramps.
Vladimir Pavlovich has run all European marathons, has been participating in Moscow marathons since 1984. He knows for sure: a banana is the head of everything.
