Designer Heron Preston, who was friends and worked with rapper Kanye West, presented a collaboration with the Moscow store Kuznetsky Most 20: a cotton T-shirt with the image of Vladimir Putin and the inscriptions Mr. President and "Style". It comes with a waist bag with crystals.
For the launch of the collection, Heron Preston came to Moscow and gave an interview to Vogue.
This is the largest country in the world, and Putin is its head. I know more about his image as a super-strong person who is still engaged in extreme sports, so he feels young. I think I have much more in common with him than with Trump, just based on his athletic form. When I wear this T-shirt, there is some irony in it, but no deep meaning."
The idea of creating a T-shirt came to Heron Preston in Moscow.
I really like to play the role of a typical tourist when traveling: I think it's fun. This allows you to look at everything with a fresh look when you imagine that you are the quintessence of stereotypical tourism. I like to go into tourist shops and do things that seem vulgar to everyone on a trip: for me it's all part of the experience when you come somewhere for the first time. So this T—shirt is an unexpected result of my trip to Russia."
The designer said that he was going to invite the Russian president to launch a collaboration in Moscow.
On the website of the KM 20 store, the novelty costs 38.6 thousand rubles. The T-shirt and bag will go on sale on March 15.
Heron Preston has long been known for his interest in Russia and the Cyrillic alphabet: his hoodies with the word "Style" are worn, for example, by Kanye West with his daughter North. Earlier, it was in Moscow that the designer presented one of his new collections to the whole world.
I judged Russia through @lookatthisrussian. I love this Instagram — this is exactly how Americans see Russia: shaved heads, narrow streamlined glasses, men-cabinets, vodka and no rules. For creativity and art in general, I think there is more freedom here than in America. You can bring anything to life, and corruption even helps here."
