Alexander Himushin is a photographer and traveler of Russian origin living in Australia. The photographer spent eight years on the road and traveled to more than 80 countries. It took him almost two years to create a collection of amazing portraits of people from the most remote corners of the planet "The World In Faces".

The result was a series of vivid pictures of men, women and children in fancy jewelry and national costumes practicing ancient customs. One of the photos shows an elderly Kyrgyz living in the mountains of the Tajik Pamir, the other shows a woman from the Ethiopian Hamer tribe, whose skin is painted with red ochre, and shells hang around her neck. "In most villages, people live the same way as many centuries ago, in clay huts, without electricity or any other amenities," the photographer explains. Himushin set himself the goal of using this project to show the diversity of the world, and it seems that he succeeded.

A photograph of a Wakhan woman dressed in a bright red outfit in countless patterns and with a variety of textures reflects the image of people inhabiting the Wakhan Corridor in Northeastern Afghanistan.

For many years, traveling has become a way for Himushin to find adventures. When he left his cozy studio in Holloways Beach in Queensland, his journey had no destination, and he ended up in places like Ladakh, where he met this woman in an unusual hat.

The traveling photographer said that there are hundreds of unique ethnic minorities in the world and that the people he met, including this elderly man from the Tajik Pamir, were amazing.
