Nature is the best sculptor, designer and architect. We cannot repeat fantastic objects of natural origin, even using the achievements of science and technology. The rocky coast of Tuzlukh, near the village of Malorechenskoye, near Alushta in the Crimea, is an excellent example of a miracle not made by hands.

These rocks are popularly called "Cheese", because they actually look like a porous yellow cheese. However, the name Tuzlukh itself means "salt shaker" in Tatar, so who has any associations.

The quartzite sandstones that make up this coast have a heterogeneous composition and places where the mineral is not too strong are gradually destroyed by sea water and winds.

The coast is gradually being destroyed and this is clearly visible by the large fragments of rocks that lie in the water. They also have a "cheesy" surface and look like pieces broken off from a large head.

There is a deep grotto in the bowels of the "Cheese" rock

These rocks were loved by Soviet directors and they can be seen in several films, for example, in "Treasure Island", released in 1982. Unfortunately, such attention does not benefit exotic geological formations. Although the coast of Tuzlukh is called a rock, but by its nature it is fragile and defenseless. Guests of the "Cheese" rocks leave behind garbage, and besides, they damage not too strong sandstone, trying to get to the most picturesque places.

From the shore, the picturesque rocks look very modest, but the surrounding seascape is breathtaking

For more than 50 years, this place has been considered a protected area — you can not litter, burn bonfires or even fish near the Tuzlukh rocks. But you can't keep track of everyone, especially since there is a beautiful gentle beach nearby, convenient for sunbathing and swimming.
