We've all heard that animals are better than humans, but hardly everyone takes it seriously. Meanwhile, our younger brothers do not tire of proving to us that this statement is not unfounded. In one of the reserves of the island of Borneo, an orangutan extended a helping hand to a man standing chest-deep in water.

An amazing shot was captured by a photographer from Indonesia, Anil Prabhakar, who came with friends to the reserve for an excursion. The man standing in the water is an employee of the Borneo Orangutan Survival Fund. He didn't need any help, as he specifically entered the pond to clear it of snakes.

This is a standard procedure that employees of the Foundation perform in order to protect primates from poisonous reptiles. Orangutans use this place for watering and can suffer from snakes living in the water. For such work, employees wear a special suit that protects the body from bites of dangerous animals and other negative influences.

Before offering his help, the monkey watched the man from a safe distance for a while. Obviously, it seemed to the orangutan that the man was in trouble, so he approached and held out his hand to him, as he would do for his brother.

The employee of the reserve refused to help the orangutan, and explained to the stunned tourists that it was not a trained, but an absolutely wild animal that was holding out his hand. This circumstance caused the photographer and his comrades even more admiration.

The man cleaning the pond also relieved the audience of illusions by informing them of important information concerning the great apes from the reserve:

The employee probably knows what he is talking about, because he and his colleagues take care of 650 orangutans. This species of primate, once very common in Southeast Asia, is now on the verge of extinction and the reserve on the island of Borneo is one of the few places where these primates can feel safe.

Orangutans are amazing animals with well-developed intelligence. Often these primates commit absolutely human acts, which are difficult to explain even to specialists.
