Decay, Be patient and so on: St. Petersburg designers have come up with "honest" names for supermarketsBy Pictolic https://pictolic.com/en/article/decay-be-patient-and-so-on-st-petersburg-designers-have-come-up-with-honest-names-for-supermarkets
The artists of the MXD project reacted to the sharp increase in prices with a new series of photographs. On them, the guys showed how well-known Russian chain supermarkets should actually be called, bringing them closer to the harsh reality.
The series was called "It seemed", but netizens are sure of something else: "It didn't seem! This is real life."
The MXD group has a new entry dedicated to the recent increase in prices for consumer goods. In it, the participants of the art project Viktor Mogilat and Evgeny Zubkov shared a series of photos under the ironic title "It seemed". In less than a day, the post collected 6 thousand likes. We offer you to evaluate this "vital" work of the guys.
Against the background of the post-New Year price increase in Russia, designers have changed the signs on popular chain supermarkets, making their names more truthful. So, for example, "Pyaterochka" turned into "Be Patient", "Dixie" — into "Expensive", and "Magnet" became a "Magnate".
The guys admit that they did not even expect such popularity and first of all worked on this art project to express their opinion about the next increase in VAT.
Netizens found these pictures very vital. According to some commentators, if prices continue to rise, the stores really should be renamed. "At least it will be fair!", — indignant Russians write.
Victor Mogilat stressed that this series of works is not a reproach to the owners of the above-mentioned stores. According to him, they themselves, in a sense, became victims of another promotion.
However, judging by the reaction of people in the comments, it is the buyers who are most upset.
