Voinov was arrested on October 20, 2014 after bringing his wounded wife, Marta Varlamova, to a hospital in Redondo Beach, California. The next day, the hockey player was released on bail of 50 thousand dollars, but the police did not stop the investigation. The denouement of the domestic violence case came in early July: the athlete entered into a deal with the investigation, under the terms of which he must serve 90 days in the Men's Central County Jail in Los Angeles, pay a $ 700 fine and undergo a year's preventive course.
