When the dog owners realized that the baby had a congenital defect of the mouth — cleavage of the palate, which is called a cleft palate, they decided to put him to sleep. Puppies with such a defect rarely survive, but a laboratory assistant from a veterinary clinic decided to try to give him a second chance.

"Knowing how compassionate I am, another veterinarian convinced the family to give up the puppy and gave me the opportunity to take care of him," she wrote on Imgur.
A user under the nickname Kaffekalle also explained why puppies with such a seemingly insignificant birth defect are so often euthanized.
"If the defect is sufficiently pronounced and affects the hard or soft palate, puppies usually do not develop. The cleft in the upper part of the mouth does not allow them to eat normally, and they die of hunger."
The girl fed the puppy through a tube every 1-2 hours for a week and even took him to work with her.
When it became clear that Bronson would survive, the vet took him in.
The puppy had a surgical correction of the mouth.
And now it's a wonderful, sweet dog.
